I'd love to see you go through the system for something like drug possession. Only to find the guards are the ones bringing it in. I'd love for you to experience the fact that they think you'd be better off dead, that they have no hope for you. There's sexual abuse, from the guards to the inmates. People getting abused by guards and inmates for no other reason then they are old and can't defend themselves. I've seen acts done by guards and inmates worse then the crime the person was in for. People stabbed over fights about commissary items, while the guards look the other way intentionally. I wonder how long it would take you for your worldview to change about humanity?

The thing is, most of those people are coming out and will live next to people like you or your neighbors. Would you have wanted to be treated with human dignity and respect, told they have a chance at a life, or for them to be broken, and angry at the world? The recidivism rate change is no joke. Tell people they have no hope, then they will act like it.
