I would unironically *really* like to see a rough breakdown of your budget because your numbers dont make sense to me even in pre covid prices-

50k/12 is about 4k/month (without factoring in taxes)

You're in mhcol, so I assume your housing costs for a 2 br is probably ballpark 2000/month

Feeding a family of 3 (extrapolating from my family of 2) maybe 5-600/month

Probably 2 cars so gas/insurance assuming no car payment that's 3-400/month

Utilities are probably in the 150/month range

Cell phone Im going to go with the cheapest possible setup of 2 with mint mobile so lets ballpark 50/month

Healthcare maybe 400/month

That leaves you with 400/month left over with no retirement savings or any sort of luxury spending and assuming a tax rate of literally 0% and some other frankly unlikely numbers. Can you point to which of these numbers is off because I literally cannot wrap my head around my conception of your budget.

Edit- just saw its a family of 3, so Im adjusting numbers down from a family of 4 accordingly.
