This sums it up for me perfectly. I shopped at Target for years and about a year into the pandemic I realized it was no longer a good value and have gone back maybe a half dozen times since. The value is gone, they're trying too hard to be upscale (while decreasing quality in a LOT of their branded home goods I purchased).

I'd probably spend 5-8k there a year. I doubt I spent 5-800 a year there now. Their decline has been really disappointing, but I've absolutely cut down my impulse purchases immensely.

When I go to the grocery store, or Walmart. Unfortunately, I buy exactly what I need and never deviate. I used to buy so much random crap at target.
