I work for a large publicly traded company (50K+) and we have chopped so many heads over the last couple of years we are having trouble getting all the work done. It's finally bubbling up to the higher levels of management and they are realizing that they actually will need to hire, they don't seem too happy about it but having to hire because you have so much work is supposed to be a good thing.
