So, a bit of clarification because the headline is misleading. The non lighting of the Tampa Bay bridge is because one of the city councils that governs the bridge and it's lighting believe the lighting schedule should be handled by DOT not the city. It should however be noted that the same council has authorized July 4th, memorial day, etc and all other lightings. So they ARE full of it, but nevertheless.

Tl;dr while Desantis is a dick and probably responsible behind the scenes for this decision. The direct control and blame rests with a few dickhead obstructionist councilmen.
