We are recruiting for senior ml engineer in nlp.

In the past , I have relied on standard filtering questions . But I am wondering if it’s unfair for new engineers who may never use these technology in their project and if it is no longer a measure of what engineers do these days.

We do have a resounds of craft demo where we ask relevant tech and technical questions.

But wanted to hear about the initial filtering round Things I wondering if I should stop asking: - Bias vs Variance and similar “stats” concepts on training - Topic modeling techniques and similar “older nlp” - Bootstrapping techniques. bagging and similar techniques - entropy, impurity and other “information theory” questions.

We couldn’t come to a consensus in our team. Would love your thoughts
