Unemployment being low doesn't really paint the whole picture. Is it not true that more Americans today are working two or more jobs than ever before? Is it also not true that certain industries such as white collar jobs in tech are facing trouble at the moment, with low job openings, layoffs, outsourcing due to high interest rates? And is it not also true that job numbers are heavily revised downwards in the order of hundred thousand-ish every month lately?

These are all rhetorical questions because they're all true. Looking at one number and deciding everything is OK is very shallow level of inspection. We must look deeper. Uber and equivalent jobs are also considered jobs in the unemployment numbers. If many were doing that instead of full time, would that be fine, in this economy?

This is not to say some industries in the BLS reports aren't doing better than others, of course that's the case. But the problem is that when white collar jobs suffer, it spreads out into other industries because those are the spenders. And then everything is impacted.
