I mean, if anything iOS has one of the longest support spans out there in the mobile world. I'll still never forget years and years ago when one of my friends got the Samsung Galaxy S3, brand new, and it was no longer capable of receiving official updates literally only 9 months later unless she wanted to learn how to root the thing. That's an absurdly short expected lifespan for someone like myself, who is still daily-driving a monitor made in 2010. Meantime, iOS 12 came out in 2018 and received its final update in 2023. That's a bit more like what I would expect for the minimum lifespan of a device, not counting any length of time it can still be useful past that.
