Like I said in a different post though, I don't think video games are an issue with 99.9% of the population, I just think it's potentially a factor. I understand that it is a way for kids to socialize, but I question whether it is the same type of bond as meeting one on one with somebody? And are some of these kids actually connecting with other people, or just playing anonymously with others? I grew up with and love video games, and I can't see any issue with a game like mine craft. But maybe a young person with mental health issues playing call of duty might lead to issues.
I also don't think video games are the only factor. I think cell phone use has also led to extreme isolation and probably a worse culprit. Social media and online bullying are likely major factors as well.
It's just some food for thought.
