But doesn't that just mean they are confusing people in a different way?

With Tesla for example, why couldn't they just call it "cruise assist" or some such? That seems pretty clear to me while being much more accurate.

Google I think have put themselves in a corner more so. Instead of "AI" what they have is actually more accurately represented by just keep calling it "Google Assistant". Just expanded to more places within their ecosystem of services. But that wouldn't sound as sexy.
