Hello - as a relative beginner to the crypto world, living in NY i am pretty limited to using Coinbase and Gemini I believe. I have \~ 5k in crypto on the coinbase platform. while ive never had any issues with CB except the occasional "outage", i read a lot about moving my holdings to a wallet of some sort.

Would coinbase wallet be an acceptable storage place or should i go with a full cold wallet? I really am an amateur when it comes to trading so im not even sure how a cold wallet allows me to trade on line or how coinbase wallet really works......any help is appreciated.
