Thank you for your post.
I'm new to investing this year, but I rode smh for a 20% growth in the first third of this year and cashed out so that I've already hit my 8% total growth for the year.
My personal feeling is that the valuations are in line with what had been achieved in terms of marketable products available today, s and nowmoved into speculative territory. The growth from the massive infrastructures announced is now priced in.
So my first concern is that if those projects don't produce fruit, the valuations will decline. That seems almost silly at the moment, because if built, they likely *will* bear fruit.
But my second concern is that we are already hearing alarm bells from security and AI alignment professionals. We've already seen some governments saying they will produce legislation slowing development.
With the pace of AI development, I think there is a reasonably high chance that some event triggers some drastic actions by governments to rein AI/LLM in, which should have an immediate negative effect on the market.
There are also escalating tensions around Taiwan, and even now that the US is sinking money into chip production at home, that is going to take several years, there probably won't be a more effective time for China to execute it's claim on Taiwan. So my gut has led me to pulling out of semiconductors for at least a few weeks.
But like I said, I'm new to investing and maybe I'm being overly cautious. Thank you again for your post.
