The literal meaning of the slogan is for Palestine to eliminate Israel and return to before its founding. I understand many people use the slogan without understanding its meaning ([this article](https://www.newsweek.com/college-students-protesters-middle-east-gaza-conflict-ignorance-israel-palestine-1860049) comes to mind). However, people do not get to use hate speech and then say it's okay because they didn't mean it literally. That's how it works in every situation I know of except apparently with antisemitism.
