The standard of living is not dropping for anyone in the US. It's in fact rising right now. How do I know this? Data. [Read for yourself.](https://usafacts.org/state-of-the-union/standard-living/) Do some people's lives suck? Sure, I'm broke and unemployed, I know exactly how it is. But that's not data, it's an anecdote. Some people's lives are getting worse, and yeah, inflation caused by the pandemic and the war in Ukraine and corporate profiteering suck. But that doesn't magically equate to a lower standard of living. In fact we have one of the highest standards of living in the world, as we have for a long time. And again, we've had the strongest post-pandemic recovery globally.

If it's not melodramatic self-pity then it's you believing propaganda. Equivocating the Democratic and Republican parties as "completely corrupt" is fucking nonsense. One party is siding with literal NeoNazis. There have been dozens of cases of miniscule voter fraud, all Republicans. There was one corrupt democrat in New Jersey, meanwhile most of the republican party supports an insurrectionist, and dozens of them seem to be taking marching orders from Putin. One party is wallowing in the muck and the other is mostly clean. And not even every Republican can be said to be corrupt, some of the spineless cowards bending the knee to Trump are actually good people trying to do what they think is the right thing.

We are so far from Haiti that either you are pulling my leg, are completely ignorant of events in Haiti (like those described in the article above) or you've completely been brainwashed by right-wing and foreign (read: Russian) propaganda. The United States is fine. Frankly it's more than fine, it's doing fucking great. Could we be doing better? Of course we could, but to call us anything like Haiti is delusional.
