Well, to be fair if I'm talking in a freediving thread on Reddit it's as a freediver so maybe I'm missing those comments...

I'm not so new that I don't expect my comment to be [comment score below threshold] but you can see a whole lot of people here assuming that extreme travel means ISIS territory or Afghanistan exclusively for some reason. There are often tens or hundreds of thousands of people travelling to these places for every one person who has a problem but if you listened to redditors you'd think I'd be decapitated and killed five Navy Seals with my actions by now.

Sometimes you've just got to explain a stance and hope that someone reasonable expands the collapsed post and ignores the people jumping to see red and smash the downvote button.
