Cost of housing compared to wages is skyrocketing, inflation of common goods is out of hand, the gap between c-suite and regular workers is a chasm- 17 years ago it was easier for most to at least make ends meet, professionals with advanced degrees in well paying jobs are commenting that it’s harder to make it these days. Unemployment doesn’t mean a damned thing if they aren’t paying us enough to make it in life. And of course household incomes will be higher, inflation is out of control so some upward wage trends have to be seen. But raises aren’t matching inflation- why ignore that for something as predictable as wages are higher than 2020, no shit they are.
