"text": "As always with ethnic conflict, I feel it is important to stress that all ethnic conflict is political in nature. The only reason we see these divides are because leaders decided to make their ethnicity politically relevant so as to achieve a greater following. I know this may sound obvious to some, especially those who would be on this sub, but I feel that a lot of people take \"ethnic conflict\" as a given rather than something with very specific origins.\n\nI'm new to the topic of South Sudanese internal politics so I am not familiar as to how far back the ethnic conflict originates, but I guarantee that it would be possible to accurately trace its origin to conflicts of power between very specific individuals.",
