As I've continued to integrate the usage of ChatGPT into my work processes I've begun to actively utilize the memory functionality regularly and find it rather useful.
However, I've found that it does require some upkeep. So I've incorporated three main processes into my workflow.
1. *Adding Project Identifiers to memories* - I started by prompting GPT to keep a memory of all projects that are being worked on and to ensure that all other memories associated with those projects include a direct reference to the project they are associated with.
2. *Regular Memory Updates* - When I am actively working on a project, I periodically prompt GPT to review all memories and update the memories associated with this project to reflect the current information and progress of the project.
3. *Memory Check-ins* - I've begun treating GPT almost as if they are a team member. Each week, I have a time blocked off on my calendar (30 mins) to have a "check-in" with GPT. During this check-in, I ask for it to provide me with a listing of all projects and a summary of each project. Additionally, I ask it to provide all memories that it has stored. From here, I will review everything and ask it to add, remove, and/or update memories as needed.
How else is everyone using the memory functionality?
