If good teachers work for these wages, they are in it for more noble reasons. God bless them too! My sister and her husband both are teachers in Ohio. Both have their master's degrees and her husband moved up to principal of an elementary school and now is superintendent of their district. They are doing well. But they both started at the beginning wages. It may take a while, but it isn't a bad life. They love their jobs and feel fulfilled.

What neither of them have is crippling student loan debt. My sister worked all through school while living with Mom and Dad. They also helped with everything, tuition, books, gas, and spending money. Oh yeah, they bought her a new car, while she was in high school.

My parents were not wealthy, but they were frugal. Still, they were better off than many. It's tough, I know. But no one should have a $120,000 debt after they graduate. Kids from less advantaged backgrounds need better options. Otherwise, American upward mobility is just a myth.
