What’s really lovely is a simple four year degree won’t do it. I have a STEM degree and if I want to teach math or science, my degree won’t let me do it. It will let me be an engineer though.

So. I could quit my six figure job and go back to school and spend a year or two getting a teaching credential, for my shot at earning about a third of what I already make?

C’mon folks. I’d love to teach. I’d even take a pay cut to do it. But I won’t spend two more years in school to earn that pay cut.
