I'm not sure how a different economic system fixes the problem, when politicians can be so readily bought for so little. They have so little regard for either the country. or the people, that they enthusiastically prostitute themselves to declared enemies of their own country. But, of course this is so widespread that their peers will not police this because they also have their snouts in the trough. And of course so many of them live such depraved lifestyles that the three-letter agencies can readily blackmail them.

I'm more inclined to believe that our problems are as a result of a widespread moral decline. Truer words were never spoken when John Adams said, "Our constitution was made only for a moral and religions people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

In other words, instead of considering posterity, or what the right thing to do in any specific circumstance, they instead ask themselves, "How can I personally benefit from this situation and how much can I get away with?"
