If you want to be a teacher, and do it for 5 years, all of your student loan debt should be forgiven.
Like cops, if we want good teachers, we need to both raise standards and raise pay. I think any teacher with 5 plus years of experience should be making at least$85K a year, plus extra for overtime and volunteering for after school activities. Plus no teacher should have to pay for supplies; in fact, teachers should be getting the best supplies.
Finally, for the truly bad kids (no I am not talking about some kid who doesn't turn in homework or wears the wrong clothes), they should be removed from the general school population and sent to a military academy, and at 18, the armed forces. I bet will bet you that your disciplinary issues will be gone in no time.
