Right but they’re both unhappy and objectively wrong about what they perceive to be the state of the economy. Like you were just objectively extremely wrong about wages and rent. Don’t you think that incorrect assumption shapes your attitude? I’m not asking you to be happy or sad or anything, I’m asking you to build your perception around actual economic conditions, not fake ones you’ve been fed by social media.
Let’s take your last point about a rent burdened family. I concede that this difference might not be something they necessarily perceive, but directionally, if this factor is what makes them feel good or bad about the economy, it should make them feel better, right? There’s actually a ton of evidence that for themselves, they do feel better. Yet somehow they get the incorrect impression that things are going the other way. That’s the problem. Lies are being spread and accepted so deeply as fact that nothing can convince them otherwise.
