I don't think the People's Republic of China has the gull or cojones, let alone the technical and logistical know how to launch an amphibious assault combine with airborne landings. The loss of life, equipment and morale would be devastatingly high! It is easier to defend a beach, than trying to take it and Taiwan knows this!

Taiwan is the one a handful of true democracies in Asia, they are willing to fight to the end to safeguard it, is the People's Republic of China willing and able to do the same!
