I've been wondering this too. I know people don't like armchair diagnosing, but it's becoming very clear that the Republican Party is simply the party of Narcissists (**Narzis**, if you will). It's believed that there are 2 types of Narcissists, overt and covert. Overts display similar behaviors to the stereotypical narcissist we know and love, loud and proud. Covert narcissists are just that, covert. They (the republican leadership) "cosplay" as empathetic to their voters, but will gaslight and perpetually play victim against whoever disagrees with them until they get their way. "**Throw a rock and hide your hands**" is the GOP motto.

Frankly, I don't think people who only care for their own interests deserve so much power over matters that effect literally everyone. A quote from the movie Dune comes to mind "**A great man doesn't seek to lead.** **He's called to it.** **And he answers.**" I'm not saying these kinds of people don't exist amongst the other parties as well, but just take a look at GOP policies and the way they carry themselves. They almost entirely deny science and want to ban books, even though the majority of their constituents are barely literate. It's because they're pathologically incapable of having empathy or being wrong, and insist on living in this fantasy world that they fabricate. A world where they're always the victim, and ANYTHING that contradicts their statements is chalked up to "fake news". That fantasy world is propped up and perpetuated by everyone else that's either too scared, uneducated, or too overwhelmed by trying to survive under capitalism, to see through the blatant lies and do anything about it.

There's this term "Narcissistic Fleas" used to describe these negative traits that people subconsciously adopt from narcissistic individuals over time. We have a serious narcissicism epidemic, and a narcissitic flea infestation. Think about all the stories you've heard of people having a change of heart when they moved away from their conservative environment and went to college or relocated to a more diverse city? It ties back to the idea of narcisissitc fleas.

Personality disorders are usually developed during childhood when a child is subjected to things like childhood trauma or continuous verbal abuse. If you're raised by a narcissist, you're more likely to develop that same disorder. Or if a child is naturally empathetic, they can be "beaten" into submission ( I've experienced this firsthand, and it wasn't until I left that toxic environment and started to work on my mental health, that I was able to start unlearning all that hate and aversion to responsibility)

People with Narcissitic Personality Disorder are "Masters of Manipulation". They essentially have the ability to brainwash people in almost imperceivable ways, it's a long game that they play. Why do they they insist that things like critical race theory and LGBTQ awareness are attempts to "brainwash" the youth? Answer: It's all projection. It's in their best interest that they gut our education system and gaslight people into hating themselves and being scared of "outsiders" because it serves to further divide and isolate people from their neighbors.
