1. Russia isnt trying to take the entire country. Mostly just the regions that were involved in the Minsk agreement. If they were taking the whole of ukrain they would need like 5x the troops they have and it honestly would be impossible to accomplish and control

2. I agree, they shouldnt be in this situation. But their situation gets worse every day as more territory is lost, further making their negotiating hand weaker and weaker. The sooner they negotiate the better their overall situation for their future is. They dont have the population to keep this going as many have fled to both russia and EU nations alike and their younger generations are all dying in the war. If ukranian leaders had a time machine they would probably go back 2 years and make that peace deal.

If hey truely want to fight till the bitter end? Fine. Have at it. But dont expect me to support it for either side.
