I was an engineer at MS for 8 years and Apple for 7 years. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. There have been tons of amazing innovations at Apple (LLVM & Clang are two good examples) but Apple doesn't tout those things the way the other FAANG companies do. Notice that Apple hasn't created a public LLM. That's not because they aren't doing it; it's because they don't talk about it.

I love both companies but your take is bullshit. The iCar was a horrible idea from day 1. All companies make bets that don't pan out.
