Young Progressives, please take note. Your forebearers do not participate in the 2-party system because we have lost our Progressive spirit or become apathetic, but because we have seen the folly of protest votes. I hate that it's like this, but it just is. I hate having to repeat that we are in dangerous times, that we will lose our democracy if we can't keep authoritarians and fascists out of power, but this is the reality of the situation as it stands today. You can either save our country to fight another day by voting Democrat, or you can be complicit in aiding its fall by doing anything else. The President as only one man has some relevance, but there are ripple effects that come with the choice as well. He brings a cabinet, advisors, judges, etc. The rest of your ballot is important too -- at every level.

The reality is that either Trump or Biden will be president, no matter what you do. We have to function within that reality.
