JP Morgan's chip analyst, Harlan Sur, I consider God-like. I was very new to investing when I first started reading his analysis, so I was hesitant to buy/sell based on his assumptions and I'm telling you that was a mistake. Dude predicted the semiconductor bottom months before it happened and recommended accumulating along the bottom while many analysts were throwing in the towel - I remember Citi doing so, for example.

His analysis of specific companies, too, has been so spot on over the last few years, even when he's outside of consensus with other well-respected analysts.

So he has his finger on the pulse of the semiconductor cycle along with company-specific idiosyncrasies, and chip analysts need to do both those things.

Really a great analyst, and I hope he remains at JP Morgan for a while.
