It'd be a lot easier to not have a 'victim complex' if the Pope wouldn't go and make announcements that put me directly under the crosshairs, such as "Gender ideology is the ugliest danger of our time."

As a trans women, I face enough discrimination, hatred, and abuse at the hands of his people that I don't need even more of that because he's declared me and my people public enemy #1.

Maybe you think I have a 'chip on my shoulder', but I see zero reason to do as you suggest and show them some sort of unearned deference. Respect is a two way street, and the Catholics haven't shown me any in living memory.
