So from a Catholic perspective, Christ is fully human in that he experienced pain, suffering, joy, and pleasure just as any other human would. At the same time, he is fully divine, in that he has the full power of the omniscient and omnipotent God that He is.

Take the story of the temptation of Christ. Jesus went into the desert to fast and pray for 40 days. As any human would, he was starving and dehydrated by the ordeal, so when the Devil came to tempt him with relief, Jesus felt the same urge a suffering man would.

And what did the Devil tell Jesus to do? Turn a stone to bread, and cast himself from the cliff to be caught by angels. Christ never denies doing such was in His power, but refuses because God is consistent, and doing so would violate what was written in the Old Testament, He refuses to do what the Devil suggests.

When there was no Old Testament promise against a miracle, Christ, being fully divine, could use His power as God to turn water to wine, multiply food, cure the sick, etc.
