The fanaticism toward AI is a commercial grift. Low quality technological nonsense is being peddled to artificially inflate the valuations of tech companies. There is PLENTY of things companies should be working on to enhance the user experience in current generation of all kinds of technical products and software. Instead of focusing their efforts to upgrade what consumers really need in their products, companies are abandoning product development for chasing forced and half-assed integration of "AI" just because they need to pander to technically illiterate investors and capital allocators (who themselves are grifters). We keep hearing about these venture capitalists that keep funding utter garbage only dedicated to SaaS and social media. Why can't they show this kind of fervor in commercially funding the science and engineering required to scale the sectors of technology that are highly needed for a sustainable and healthy planet? Why must these be only financed by the government and a scattering of philanthropic organizations?
