We've all heard about how office buildings are largely empty and commercial real estate is in trouble. As such I've been avoiding investing in anything to do with commercial real estate, such as REITs, with a 10 foot pole. Are there any REITs or similar out there now focused on buying up these troubled assets for pennies on the dollar? I don't want to buy anything with existing investments in real estate, but buying in now seems attractive.
