When are you guys anticipating companies to cut back investments from GenAI and steer away from this overly glorified stochastic parrot which has arrived to take millions of jobs away? Creating avatars to talk to and have a relationship with ? Cloning celeb voices and creating content ? These are not justifiable use cases to solve issues in the world today or any of the problems corporations face on a day to day basis. When you invest hundreds of thousands of dollars to train systems that you can’t trust to do even high school math with (where even the most ridiculous answer can be returned just because it was statistically more likely), how is the return justified when it is literally impossible to inject these systems into a production environment. There will be layoffs regardless in the pretense of AI taking jobs to cover up for these pointless investments. Solving the problem of AGI indicates we have completely understood how the human brain works which is a bit of a stretch if it relied on language modelling alone to help humans survive. Is the burst due after the elections ?
