I just got access to the new MacOS desktop app and it seemed to work just fine for the first few things I tried out but when I gave it a very long coding task, the output slowed to an absolute crawl and looking at the Activity Monitor I see the ChatGPT process is taking 100% of the CPU. I have an M1 Macbook Air btw. I also noticed the app has spawned 18 threads! Seems like an insane amount.

The generation speed wasn't the only problem, the whole interface lags so much, I can barely even scroll it up.

I remember this happening with the normal website too, I think it was around GPT-4 launch if I remember correctly? I remember my laptop heating up like crazy and the issue just randomly fixed itself. This feels like the same exact thing.
