To preface: yes I know gold and silver haven't even remotely caught up with the S&P since 1970 (400% vs 23,000%), and I know something like ammunition isn't truly an "investment" either.

But what are some things that one could set aside money (per paycheck or so) to diversify his portfolio?

[Already max Roth, 403(b), have annuity and Pension, and also a taxable. Looking for a lesser known store of value rather than a money market or Treasury securities to store roughly 2-4% of my total portfolio]
