I wouldn't say that. There are a lot of people that are like us that were able to take advantage of WFH or some other temporary COVID measure that allowed us to buy a starter house in some random city that we could afford. But now we're stuck. Forever. And what's never mentioned is that the big repairs that inevitably come with owning a home like HVAC repairs, new roofs, new siding, etc. can't just be paid by refinancing like they could by previous generations. And those items have SKYROCKETED in the past 3 years. Even those who were fortunate enough to squeeze into a starter home from 2020 to 2022 aren't exactly out of the woods and living on Easy Street.
