Good on you for standing up for yourself.
I remember my supervisor told me to go talk to the engineers regarding making improvements to the assembly process. I was in several meetings with them. Naive me thought that we were doing something good. Later, I found out that the engineers were trying to find ways to make us work faster and make more device units, but still paying us close to minimum wage.
Early on when I was a temp, an assembler(30 year old married man with a wife and kids who was having an affair with another assembler who was a 20 year old woman) came up behind me and cornered me by the restroom area and said inappropriate things to me. I got so mad, I yelled at him and told him off. I told me supervisor about it. I cried in front of her. It was so humiliating talking about the experience. The creep's agency came and removed him from the job site. They dropped him permanently.
And being a permanent wasn't even all that. The health benefits sucked. I paid about 80 something per month in 2019 for health insurance and the deductible was like 2k. I felt like I was paying for nothing. The only good thing was PTO.
