I’m a Democrat, a really staunch one at that, but I wouldn’t even conflate all Republicans in this, just the Trump Supporters. I know plenty of reasonable Republicans that were disgusted by Trump when he first ran and decided to vote Democrat to vote against him (however, I live in California, and I understand Republicans in Cali tend to be more moderate). My ex was a registered Republican that voted for Clinton and Biden because he found Trump disgusting- same with my dad (though my dad has been voting Democrat in the general elections since 2008, so at this point he’s a RINO lol). I think my boyfriend is even registered as an independent and votes in Republican primaries so that he can vote for the least crazy ones. (He votes for democrats in the general elections as well).

Now, with most of the Republican Party licking trump’s ass, this distinction isn’t really helpful anyway, but I did want to stick up for the reasonable republicans I know that find him utterly racist and abhorrent. My dad is the father of two women- me and my sister- and I was really proud of him when he told me he couldn’t imagine any parent with a daughter voting in someone that talks about women the way Trump does.
