Non-US citizen here. Would it be easier to just sell my claim (under 50k) at 84% to FTXcreditor or should I just wait it out? I’m in no hurry to use the money but I’m afraid that with the withholding tax that’s rumored to be 24%-30% of the final amount and with me being an international creditor (I reckon the claiming process would be harder or longer for me compared to a US citizen? Please prove me wrong if you know), would it be unwise to just wait until feb 2025 or whenever they are paying us back? Or should I just sell my claim to a creditor now? Or maybe selling it a bit later after we hear more about the tax? Any insight appreciated.
