That’s because there are two “the economy”s.
One is the economy that you see on news, government statements, business reports, etc. It exists in a world that 99% of us aren’t a part of yet influences practically every part of our lives, often without our realization.
The other economy is our perception of the world in direct correlation to our income. When McDonalds costs above $10, rent above $2,000, houses over $300k, streaming services doubling in cost… all while raises don’t meet inflation and federal minimum wage hasn’t risen in fifteen years.
So yes, ask any financial expert on the national news and they’ll say the economy is thriving. Ask practically any typical American and they’ll say it’s the worst it’s been in their lifetime.
