The way I use memory is I have a session that is just called Behavior Manager. There's a set of, currently, I think, 48 "behaviors" that are kept track of by that session. The behaviors include how GPT should sync to memories. The Behavior Manager has commands that allow you to add, delete, modify, and generate behaviors. I use it a few ways but one is if I'm in a session and it behaves in some way contrary to how I expected it to, I'll work through the fix with it, then have it "analyze" the session and develop a proposal to modify it's behavior in the future. I copy that proposal into the Behavior manager, which reviews the proposal, compares it to current behaviors, and decides how best to implement the new ones, and finally resync to memory.

Over time I have it so that I can do a number of things that make working with GPT feel more like working on a command line because I can use a kind of shorthand. I can just tell it in a few words and it already has a pretty good idea of what I want.
