>We would not need many raptors at all to make short work of China's Airforce.  Maybe 5 or 6 in the air at one time.

China has over 1000 fighter jets, and over 3000 total military aircraft. These are conservative estimates compared to China's air force on paper.

Each F-22 carries 8 air-to-air missiles that do not reload mid-flight. Of course it would not only be F-22s engaging the Chinese air force.

>Did we forget we're talking about the best logistics on the planet?

Whoever started this conversation either forgot about Kadena Air Base and others, or has assumed these would be unusable.

Did we forget Sun-Tzu, or lessons about mass vs technological superiority from previous conflicts? Did we forget ammunition is not infinite? Did we forget how long it took for defense production to ramp up for WWII? Did we forget more advanced munitions and delivery systems take longer to manufacture today than those from the WWII era?

Did we forget the civilian political leadership of the military, and limits they can place on what actions the military can take?
