Specifically, I mentioned Bitcoin. More specifically, the reading was August 15, 2019. Bitcoin was ~$10,000 on that day. The low later that year was around $7,000. If anyone who saw my show back then had bought, they'd be sitting on around a 7x gain. Pretty good imo. If they waited a bit to buy, they could even be sitting on a 10x. (No one times the market perfectly, tho.)
You might be asking, how does crypto relate to disabilities?
In the show I mention several different scenarios that are unwelcoming to people with disabilities (specifically wheelchair users). Here's the exact line:
*"Ever notice how the windows for bank tellers are EXTREMELY high? What’s up with that? It is almost as if banks don’t want our business. Thank God for Bitcoin."*
I was mocked for mentioning Bitcoin there at the time of the performance.
Did another reading of the musical last year in June. The price was around $26,000. So if someone bought after that, they'd still be sitting on about a 2.5x gain.
Not really sure it means anything. Just thought I'd share.
