Land is finite but the land you own is at the mercy of the government that truly owns it. I can buy land, but cannot build/ farm or do whatever I want without permits. If you need to ask permission, is it really yours?

When I was a kid, I thought you truly owned a house and land. You could do whatever you wanted with it. Now I know it's a silly thing, after reading about rules and regulations about construction guidelines.

Like when your parents buy you a console. It's yours to play, but only when they allow you to. At any moment, they can take it away, if you don't tidy up the room or do what they say.

I think everyone should own a home, but never to store your wealth in real estate only.

Edit: Also, most people to get real estate need to share a 4% fee of their future income with the bank, while the bank just prints a loan out.

Wish I could open a bank and give out mortgages with 1 dollar in the bank.
