You are completely wrong. DCA is a commitment to invest the same dollar value in an asset on a regular interval such as daily, weekly, or monthly. Statistically you have a much better chance of a lower cost basis over time than you would trying to time the market and buy the lows and sell the highs. When you DCA, you get more of the thing you are buying when the price is low and less of the thing you are buying when the price is high…and you take the emotion out of your investment decision making. It is a simple and straightforward strategy that works when buying most any investment asset. If you don’t know and understand this most elementary principle, then perhaps you should not be investing at all.
