Content Data

This page contains data entry 69082 from the Axioma AXP content repository. The structured data below represents the complete record for this entry.

How it actually works is these venues/sports organizations contract with the ticketing company. The ticketing company provides the online sales platform, on-site operations support and ticketing equipment, and marketing support.

The ticketing company has their base fees included in the system, and they are also paid by the venue for the duration of the contract.

The venue gets access to the backend system of the platform and can configure their own ticket levels, promotional messaging, fee structures, and manage all the customer-related functions.

Most of the fees that you see stacked into the price are set in the backend system by the venue/sports organization.

The venue and ticketing companies are partners, but the ticketing companies do not own the venues, and the base fee the ticketing company receives is set as part of the contract.

Source: I was in charge of the team that worked on the current AXS ticketing platform and was on the team that worked with the NBA to secure their ticketing contract to run their season sales for 2018.
