I'm just saying historically, that's what happens. Obviously no one can know what will happen in the future, it's not set in stone or anything.

I don't agree with your analogy however. Electricity is a fundamental part of nature, not a man created asset. There has always been electricity in the universe, there hasn't always been currency, never mind bitcoin, and at some point, currency will no longer exist. Electricity always will. A better analogy would be thinking something is going to come along any day now and replace our main means of generating electricity, which could very well happen.
