So.....
NBER is an independent group. The IMF and World Bank are both not affiliated with the US government. One of those papers isn't even concerned with domestic inflation, it's concerned with global inflation.
Like, if you have concerns over the research rather than trying to dismiss it, read it and offer criticisms of their methodology, figures, etc.
Research is not above criticism, but in order for criticism to be valid it must be thoughtful. For example, if my first grade math teacher shows me that 4+4 = 8, and I'm of the opinion that it would equal 10, my next course of action should be to examine if 4 + 4 actually equates to 8 or if I can display that it equals 10. I wouldn't for instance just say "yeah, of course the teacher would say that, don't trust them" then move on without giving the situation a second thought. That would not be thoughtful criticism, would it? It would be intellectual cowardice, wouldn't it?
