Oh, I get that the Monetarists were sidelined and Friedman is long out of fashion. I don't dispute that the NNS school won the war for mindshare. As Friedman remarked, in some sense "we're all Keynesians now." So, congrats to the technocrats, I guess. It's good to be in power and reap the benefits of having the ear of the throne. I do dispute that NNS is value-neutral, or that central banking has ameliorated rather than exacerbated inequality, although NNS may have the "best" policy prescriptions (at least in contrast to MMT) in the context of a central-bank governed economy, while remaining inferior to a free money system, but that's getting beyond the OP.
